The Ultimate Rally Driving gives you a chance to drive two very different types of rally car – old and new – on a variety of surfaces!

The morning begins with a thorough safety briefing and an introduction to the cars that will be making you smile all day long! Then it’s time to get suited up and take charge of the legendary Ford Escort RS2000 rally car on the gravel stage while you get to grips (sorry!) with the concept of driving on loose surfaces and learn and practice many new driving techniques! Once you’re done with the practice, it’s on to the special stages!

After lunch it’s tarmac time, as you take control of either a Mitsubishi Evo VII or a Subaru Impreza STi and experience the sheer power and incredible grip and control of these modern rally giants.

After a fun and thill-packed day behind the wheel you will receive a full de-brief on your skills and progress throughout the day! A must for the serious rallying enthusiast!

Guidelines for participants

You must have a full manual UK drivers licence.

Spectators

There is a charge for spectators on the day. Full day spectator cost is £15.00 per person, although this includes lunch & refreshments.

Availability

This experience is available year round and will only be affected by extreme weather conditions. We recommend that you book a minimum of 6 weeks in advance.

How to order

When you buy an experience from Extreme Element you will get a voucher which will be used towards the experience purchased. The voucher itself is called an Ex Pass. This will include: your experience and the voucher code (for redemption purposes). This voucher needs to be redeemed online.

An Ex Booking is your “booking voucher”. This is what you will receive after you have redeemed your Ex Pass (voucher). This will include partner centre details, activity details, and restrictions. You must keep this in a safe place as this is your unique booking and will need to be presented when attending your activity.

Mitsubishi Evo or Subaru Impreza

Enjoy the thrill of driving a Subaru Impreza Sti or a Mitsubishi Evo rally car. The choice is yours…

Your day will begin at the venue with an introduction from your instructor who will go through a number of different driving techniques with you. Then comes the moment of truth. You will need to decide which rally car you want to drive. Whichever car you choose, either the Subaru or Mitsubishi, you will be sure to get one of the most powerful rally cars available and sample breathtaking speed and acceleration.

After your rally drive, you will switch position with your instructor and they will take you on a white-knuckle ride through the rally course. Once back at base you will be given a driver analysis from your instructor and you will receive a certificate of your experience.

Guidelines for participants

The minimum age for this experience is 18 years old.

The maximum height to take part is 6′6″.

The maximum weight is 18.5 stone.

A valid UK driving licence is required for this driving day.

This activity may not suitable for those who suffer from a form of epilepsy or have any physical disability.

This activity takes place on selected Saturdays and some weekdays, February to December.

Weather guidelines

This rallying day is not dependent on weather conditions to go ahead.

You are able to bring spectators along to watch.

Introductory Rally Driving

The Introductory Rally Driving experience will give you an insight into what it takes to be a top rally driver. You will be given the chance to handle a rally car on tarmac and/or loose surfaces and learn techniques on cornering and braking from an expert tutor. This is a great prima for budding speed freaks and rally enthusiasts.

The rally experience will begin with a safety mandatory safety briefing during which you will need to sign an indemnity form (parents/legal guardians will need to sign for under 18’s) for the day. Once you have completed the safety talk, you will get behind the wheel of a specially prepared rally car to begin your tuition from a qualified rally instructor. Your instructor will be beside you at all times and will be able to advise on techniques that will allow you to get the best out of the rallying experience and improve you as a rally driver. In no time, you will be engine revving, wheel spinning and sliding your way around tight corners!

The maximum weight is 18 stone for this activity.

The minimum age to participate is 17 years old (under 18 year olds need parental consent).

The minimum height is 4′10′. The maximum is 6′4′.

You must have held a full driving licence for at least a year at some venues.

Drivers should be generally fit and healthy as ralying can be tiring and physically demanding.

How to order

As soon as you place your order for a Virgin experience day, a gift pack will be sent to you (or the recipient) containing the experience voucher. This is valid for 9 months from the date of purchase and will include a message card, booking instructions and information booklet.
