Driving a rally car is like no other form of driving. When else would you get the chance to handbrake turn around corners and power slide around tight corners with gravel surfaces? With this experience you get a full day of rally driving and tuition for qualified rally instructors.

You will start the day with a safety briefing form your instructor and then you will be able to get behind the wheel and begin some training sessions during which you will learn how to handbrake turn and do controlled opposite lock slides. A full lunch will be provided midway through the day and then it’s back to the car for more fun and a chance to test those newly found skills out in the open. The course will depend based on the location selected, but many have loose surfaces which makes the rallying experience that much more fun!

Guidelines for participants

The minimum age for this experience is 17 years old (under 18’s need parental consent).

The minimum height to take part is 5′0″ and the maximum height is 6′4″.

The maximum weight is 18 stone.

A valid UK driving licence is required for this driving day.

This activity takes place on selected days throughout the year.

Weather guidelines

This rallying day is dependent on weather conditions to go ahead so please check with the venue beforehand.

Spectators

You are able to bring 2 spectators along to watch, but they must be over 11 years of age and there maybe a charge on the day.

Half Day Forest Rally

Length of activity 4 hours.

Over half a day you will get to feel the acceleration of a 310 bhp Subaru Impreza Rally Car over a real forest rally stage and drive through the forest stage yourself in a number of different rally cars.

Your rally day will begin with your instructor showing you basic techniques such as steering control and racing lines, which progress through to advanced rally driving skills like Scandinavian flicks, braking control and power slides. You will start the first session in a Ford Escort in an open field to get used to some of your newly taught techniques, you will graduate to a Ford Cosworth which you will drive through a purpose built track through the forest before moving onto the Subaru Impreza and then swapping seats with your instructor who will then take through the stage at speed to show you the awesome power and performance of a true rally car icon!

A valid UK driving licence is required for this driving day.

This activity takes place on selected Saturdays throughout the year.

Extended Rally Driving

The Introductory Rally Driving experience will give you an insight into what it takes to be a top rally driver. You will be given the chance to handle a rally car on tarmac and/or loose surfaces and learn techniques on cornering and braking from an expert tutor. This is a great prima for budding speed freaks and rally enthusiasts.

The rally experience will begin with a safety mandatory safety briefing during which you will need to sign an indemnity form (parents/legal guardians will need to sign for under 18’s) for the day. Once you have completed the safety talk, you will get behind the wheel of a specially prepared rally car to begin your tuition from a qualified rally instructor. Your instructor will be beside you at all times and will be able to advise on techniques that will allow you to get the best out of the rallying experience and improve you as a rally driver. In no time, you will be engine revving, wheel spinning and sliding your way around tight corners!

You must have held a full driving licence for at least a year at some venues.

Drivers should be generally fit and healthy as ralying can be tiring and physically demanding.
